First Annual WOMEN’S MARCH Is Happening Saturday In Sarnia!!
January 17, 2019 9:58 amGeorge and Sarah chatted with Elleke and Jaime from Women’s March Canada Sarnia Lambton.
“Saturday January 19th at noon we are asking everyone to join the womens wave for the first ever Women’s March in Sarnia-Lambton! The rally will begin at noon at the old Sear’s parking lot at the Lambton Mall, followed by an after party at 1:30 at midtown Refined Fool. All are welcome! Feminism is about equality for everyone!
The theme this year for all marches is ending violence against women. We have speakers from the Women’s Interval home, poverty reduction network, the native friendship center and the transgender support group in Sarnia.
For more details about the march route and the event, head over to the Women’s March Canada Sarnia-Lambton’s facebook page or womensmarchcanada.com
Also just to note- we are not just a march – we are a year round organization. Since forming 4 months ago we have already been a support of the local Take Back the night, stood in solidarity with a survivor protesting Dr Singh and one of our executive members headed the women in policing event. We plan to do more professional development activities and build up organizations/charities who want to advance equality as well!”
