THE TOILET PAPER HOLDER REIMAGINED

As often as it’s seen and used, you would think someone would invent a more interesting toilet paper holder. The reality, of course, is that we just need the holder to do it’s job — hold the TP in place solidly and have it roll smoothly.

But if you’re interested in shaking things up in the bathroom, a new show full of re-imagined toilet paper holders is going on at the Los Angeles art gallery Marta. The show, called Under/Over, features the works of more than 50 artists who redesigned the hardware responsible for the thankless, yet essential job of keeping toilet paper at the ready.
