Eating healthy.\u00a0 Gosh, sometimes just remembering to shower is an important part of self care.<\/p>\n<p>I have found, in my life, that when I do those things on a regular basis I feel more like myself and find myself wanting to do more things that make me happy. But it hasn&#8217;t been easy every day during this pandemic.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><em>&#8220;Self-care is a lifelong habit and culture. It is the practice of individuals looking after their own health based on the knowledge and information available to them. It is a decision-making process that empowers individuals to look after their own health efficiently and conveniently. Celebrate International Self-Care Day by participating in a self-care activity that you enjoy!<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><em>How do you like to participate in self-care? Some ideas for self-care are physical activity, healthy eating, good hygiene, self awareness and health literacy. Be sure to take some time today to engage in self-care, something that makes you feel good!&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It&#8217;s been a challenge.\u00a0 I know that when I make self-care a priority for ME, I feel better. I&#8217;m focused, I have energy, confidence and overall feel GOOD.\u00a0 But &#8211; I&#8217;ll be honest, some days are harder than others and you have to PUSH to make it happen.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_10571\" style=\"width: 220px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10571\" class=\"wp-image-10571\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.briwebapp.net\/2020\/07\/c8433a9e-110336532_10158902952942754_7911780393092629494_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"210\" height=\"157\" srcset=\"https:\/\/storage.briwebapp.net\/2020\/07\/c8433a9e-110336532_10158902952942754_7911780393092629494_n.jpg 960w, https:\/\/storage.briwebapp.net\/2020\/07\/c8433a9e-110336532_10158902952942754_7911780393092629494_n-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/storage.briwebapp.net\/2020\/07\/c8433a9e-110336532_10158902952942754_7911780393092629494_n-695x521.jpg 695w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 210px) 100vw, 210px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-10571\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Monday<\/p><\/div>\n<p>On Monday &#8211; I did my workout in the morning, made some good food choices, got dressed up for the workday, hair and makeup.\u00a0 I felt focused.\u00a0 I felt good.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_10610\" style=\"width: 153px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10610\" class=\"wp-image-10610\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.briwebapp.net\/2020\/07\/8fa37800-friday.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"143\" height=\"190\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-10610\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Friday &#8211; PJ&#8217;s<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Today &#8211; I skipped my workout, I&#8217;m still in my pj&#8217;s and had a brownie for lunch.\u00a0 Just being honest.<\/p>\n<p>If I&#8217;m being REAL I will tell you that living through this pandemic has been one of my biggest challenges in this lifetime.\u00a0 Most days I feel good and even happy, thankful to be at home and still have a job to &#8216;go to&#8221; everyday.\u00a0 But there are some days, still, that I am not sure how I feel.<\/p>\n<p>I thought by now I would be back in the Fox studio, with co-workers surrounding me. But I&#8217;m still here.\u00a0 Working away, broadcasting live from my scrapbook room.<\/p>\n<p>There are days I get really tired of staring at the same four walls.\u00a0 There are days I get really tired of my own backyard.\u00a0 I want to be back &#8220;out&#8221; in the world and do things like we used to.\u00a0 I long to go to a Zumba class again, but to be honest, I&#8217;m just not ready to be back out there.\u00a0 Yes, we still need to be cautious.\u00a0 Covid hasn&#8217;t gone away.\u00a0 But there&#8217;s more to it than that.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m going back into my shell.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m a shy person.\u00a0 I have ALWAYS been shy, and when you&#8217;re shy, and you work in radio, and want to have friends (smile) you learn to push through the shyness.\u00a0 I fear myself sinking back to those really shy girl ways.\u00a0 Awkward.\u00a0 Uncomfortable around people.\u00a0 Avoiding groups.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s hard when you are isolated and feel so out of touch with the world.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m tired of being home.<\/p>\n<p>I know we can go out.\u00a0 Masks, social distancing, safety precautions are all in place for our safety.<\/p>\n<p>I think it&#8217;s easy to retreat.\u00a0 It&#8217;s easy to hide our feelings when it feels so uncertain.\u00a0 It&#8217;s easy to forget who we are, and what makes us happy.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re afraid to share for fear of judgement or ridicule.\u00a0 Just ask someone what they think of masks.<\/p>\n<p>Remember when this first started?\u00a0 The hearts in the windows.\u00a0 The messages of support &#8220;we&#8217;re in this together&#8221;.\u00a0 Let&#8217;s not forget THAT.<\/p>\n<p>And don&#8217;t forget that taking care of yourself through this is super important.\u00a0 Maybe the MOST important.<\/p>\n<p>I never imagined this.\u00a0 None of us could have.<\/p>\n<p>Keep looking after you and your mental health &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Exercise, eat right, spend time outdoors, get creative, give to others (it can be your time, or just lend a shoulder), journal and practice SELF-CARE &#8211; however that looks to you.<\/p>\n<p>Which reminds me to get out of my pj&#8217;s, shower and do something to take care of myself.<\/p>\n<p>Stay safe, be kind and thank you for listening and sharing your afternoon with me.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-10611\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.briwebapp.net\/2020\/07\/82262d05-canstockphoto6741881.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"276\" height=\"259\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a9 Can Stock Photo \/ nikdoorg<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"It&#8217;s another Feel Good Friday &#8211; teaming up with the Canadian Mental Health Association Lambton Kent &#8211; sharing ways you can continue to take care of your mental health.
