It’s “Coffee Day”.\u00a0 So let’s sit.\u00a0 Let’s have a coffee (or beverage of choice) and chat.\u00a0 You know, like we used to?\u00a0 Before #covid19 made it almost impossible.<\/p>\n
I don’t remember the last time I went out for coffee with a friend.\u00a0 It’s been a long time.<\/p>\n
So today, right now, let’s have a coffee break together.<\/p>\n
I’ve got my coffee.\u00a0 I’ve got a few cinnamon sugar mini-donuts.\u00a0 Let’s talk.<\/p>\n
What’s on your mind?\u00a0 How are you feeling right now?<\/p>\n
Exhausted from all the negativity online?\u00a0 I am.\u00a0 It’s a dark place with lots of opinions.<\/p>\n
My dad is going for surgery on Friday and I can’t be there.\u00a0 Only my second mom is allowed in.\u00a0 The day AFTER.\u00a0 Thank you covid (sarcasm).\u00a0If I’m distracted this week – you now know why.\u00a0 I hate that we can’t be together as a family while we wait.\u00a0 And that’s how it is for anyone right now.\u00a0 It sucks and it’s hard.<\/p>\n
I forgot to wear a mask in a store last week.\u00a0 I was more afraid of people’s reaction than of covid.\u00a0 #truth<\/p>\n
It was a rush into a store for something my daughter needed for a school art project and I completely forgot.\u00a0 In the moment – it was normal life.\u00a0 And than I felt the panic when I realized I had forgotten.<\/p>\n
We are all tired.<\/p>\n
Tired of the negative.<\/p>\n
Tired of the headlines.<\/p>\n
Tired of not being able to get together.<\/p>\n
Tired of seeing all the things we look forward to get cancelled – one right after the other.<\/p>\n
No Christmas parades.<\/p>\n
No New Years in Times Square in New York.<\/p>\n
Hard to stay positive, right?<\/p>\n
At the same time – if you’re still alive in the world and you are healthy and your family and friends are healthy – there is a lot to be thankful for.\u00a0 Despite everything else.<\/p>\n
Nope, it’s not the same.<\/p>\n
I just wish we could get back to that place where we felt we were in this together.\u00a0 \u00a0Because that’s what will help us through this.\u00a0 \u00a0So we can get back to the way it was.<\/p>\n
Where we can sit in coffee shops and other places freely.<\/p>\n
And really enjoy our coffee.\u00a0 And each other.<\/p>\n
