Have you ever had something happen to you – an accident or injury or just embarrassing situation (smile) that was caused by your fur baby?\u00a0 I have.\u00a0 Because it happened yesterday and the bruises prove it.\u00a0 So does the lingering embarrassment.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I was leaving work yesterday, (and by that I mean leaving my craft room and going downstairs to the kitchen).\u00a0 I stepped on something, and suddenly I was tumbling down the stairs, grasping at anything to catch my fall as I went.\u00a0 Step by step.\u00a0 I felt like I was falling down in slow motion.\u00a0 Like I could it happening from up above.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I didn’t see anything on the stairs before I slipped.\u00a0 I looked around, as I tried to gather my thoughts.\u00a0 Don’t look to the light.\u00a0 (kidding).\u00a0 \u00a0Trying to figure out if I was still in one piece.\u00a0 It felt like the fall took forever.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Then I saw him.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Sheldon.\u00a0 The cat.\u00a0 Sitting quietly at the top of the stairs.\u00a0 Staring at me.\u00a0 I know he was laughing.\u00a0 He had been on the stair.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t see him.\u00a0 \u00a0He didn’t even make a sound.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The noise of the fall caused a commotion in my household. Everyone came running to show their concern.\u00a0 Well, my husband did.\u00a0 I’m sure he tried to hide a smile and a laugh.\u00a0 And if I wasnt’ so mad, I probably would have laughed to.\u00a0 My kids came out of their rooms a few minutes later.\u00a0 My 17 year old said “Did you fall down the stairs again?” with a grin.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Yep, again.\u00a0 Because when our cat was still just a kitten sitting on the stairs, he clawed me one morning.\u00a0 As I was making the journey down the stairs.\u00a0 Got me right in the ankle and sent me tumbling.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s one of those moments in time you never forget.\u00a0 You’re feeling hurt – pride and body.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And you’re pretty sure your cat knew exactly what he was doing.<\/p>\n
