Dear American neighbours, we are excited for you and share in your joy and celebration.<\/p>\n
If anything, this pandemic has taught us to look for a reason to celebrate.\u00a0 Not our election. Not our politicians.\u00a0 Not our country.\u00a0 And whether you like Joe Biden or supported Trump, yesterday was a day of celebration that we could all watch.<\/p>\n
It was refreshing to hear words of encouragement and hope.\u00a0 It was inspiring to see Kamala Harris sworn in as the first female, Black, and South Asian American vice president.\u00a0 Showing girls and young women everywhere you can do anything.<\/p>\n
I loved some of the performances from last nights special “Celebrating America”, but did anybody else think Tom Hanks talked like he just got back from the dentist?\u00a0 Or it was too cold for him to speak?<\/p>\n
Bon Jovi’s performance of “Here Comes The Sun” was a favourite, a song of hope and encouragement.\u00a0 Better days coming.\u00a0 But it was Katy Perry’s performance to close the show that brought tears to my eyes.\u00a0 Perfect song. Perfect end to the day.\u00a0 Perfect reminder for today and all that we are feeling and going through and feeling as a whole.<\/p>\n
Especially now, politics aside, it’s easy to resonate with the lyrics.<\/p>\n
