I was out this weekend, getting some bins for organizing my daughter’s room, and saw it.<\/p>\n
A package of Twinkies at the checkout.\u00a0 \u00a0Without any hesitation, I grabbed those Twinkies and I threw them in my cart.\u00a0 And I smiled.\u00a0 \u00a0What’s essential for me, might not be essential for you.\u00a0 Don’t judge.\u00a0\u00a0(smile)<\/p>\n
In that moment, I remember my younger self.\u00a0 Always wanting the Twinkies.\u00a0 Always getting the Wagon Wheels or boring granola bar while other kids got the Twinkies.<\/p>\n
My grown up self got all judgy.\u00a0 I know there was some sort of “tone” in my thoughts.\u00a0 \u00a0You know how we get when we get older and wiser.\u00a0 “You really don’t NEED that.”\u00a0 “You know that’s not good for you, right?”\u00a0 “You know what’s IN THAT?”<\/p>\n
Gasp. Shock. The horror of indulging in the sweet yellow cake with the cream filling.<\/p>\n
But I couldn’t wait.\u00a0 As soon as I was out of that place, ripped my mask off and sanitized and cleaned my hands, I ripped that package of deliciousness open.\u00a0 Sitting in the car.\u00a0 Alone.\u00a0 Like I was doing something so wrong.\u00a0 (smile).\u00a0 I didn’t even care.<\/p>\n
Sometimes you have to not be the adult.\u00a0 Or act like one.<\/p>\n
Sometimes you have to remember that little kid inside and give them a little something special.\u00a0 No matter how much you tell yourself not to.<\/p>\n
No kids to share with either.\u00a0 The BEST.\u00a0 (smile)<\/p>\n
