Awe, Monday.\u00a0 We meet again.<\/p>\n
The transition from weekend to workday is a wee bit harder when you’re at home.\u00a0 Not complaining.\u00a0 Just sayin’.\u00a0 \u00a0I miss the transition of home to office sometimes.\u00a0 The ability to “psych” yourself up for the workday\/ workweek.\u00a0 Instead of “what’s behind door number two”.<\/p>\n
Work meetings on Google Meet force me to dress up.\u00a0 Or at least get out of pj’s.\u00a0 \u00a0(smile)<\/p>\n
Anybody else really HATE video chats?\u00a0 I can’t do them.\u00a0 \u00a0I know research shows we’re all dealing with Zoom fatigue.\u00a0 It’s hard to chat on video.\u00a0 We’re looking at our own face.\u00a0 We’re being overly critical of our face.\u00a0 “Do I really look like THAT?”<\/p>\n
And while we’re on video, we’re doing our best to keep our “game face” on.\u00a0 \u00a0We can’t roll our eyes like we would elsewhere.\u00a0 (smile)\u00a0 Or fake a smile.\u00a0 Best behavior when on Zoom.<\/p>\n
What is life going to be like when we’re doing meetings the old fashioned way?\u00a0 Are we going to try to “mute” someone when we don’t like what they’re saying?\u00a0 Or ourselves?\u00a0 “Sorry, did I say that OUT LOUD?”<\/p>\n
And then I look at the close up.\u00a0 At the wrinkles.\u00a0 The roots.\u00a0 The grey hair that is forcing it’s way back.\u00a0 Yikes.<\/p>\n
I was thinking of creating some cardboard cutouts for my home office to give me the feeling of being with co-workers.\u00a0 You know, like they did at sporting events, when people weren’t actually allowed to be in the stands?\u00a0 Cardboard cutouts of fans.\u00a0 Which made me think “what celebrity would you chose to join you in your office?\u00a0 whether at home or actually IN the office?”\u00a0 Who do you think would be fun to work with?<\/p>\n
I have my Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran Pop Figure.\u00a0 I need to up my game.\u00a0 \u00a0I would totally have Oprah or Michelle Obama join me in studio any day.\u00a0 P!nk.\u00a0 The cast of Schitt’s Creek.\u00a0 \u00a0Feel free.\u00a0 Drop on in.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Or at least interrupt a video meeting.<\/p>\n
I do miss co-workers.\u00a0 I guess I could start talking to my plants.\u00a0 \u00a0It’s supposed to help them to thrive or maybe at least keep them alive.\u00a0 \u00a0I’m not a master at that yet.\u00a0 \u00a0Keeping them alive.<\/p>\n
It’s so nice to have sunshine and warm weather.\u00a0 I hope you are taking advantage and getting your dose of vitamin D.\u00a0 Does wonders for the soul.<\/p>\n
