{"id":14022,"date":"2021-04-05T13:39:23","date_gmt":"2021-04-05T17:39:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/cfgxfm\/?p=14022"},"modified":"2021-04-05T12:52:19","modified_gmt":"2021-04-05T16:52:19","slug":"the-view-from-here-have-you-seen-my-phone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/cfgxfm\/blogs\/afternoons\/2021\/04\/the-view-from-here-have-you-seen-my-phone\/","title":{"rendered":"The View From Here &#8211; Have You Seen My Phone?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thankfully I have a Fitbit that notifies me when I have a call or I would have totally missed this morning&#8217;s podcast recording.\u00a0 Eve, Sarah and myself get together every Monday for a new Fox Talks podcast recording.\u00a0 \u00a0Usually we start with a Google Meet.\u00a0 But today I couldn&#8217;t find my phone.<\/p>\n<p>We did our chat which you can listen to HERE and before I could go back to work, I had to search for my phone.<\/p>\n<p>I work at home and I have not left the house since I first used my phone early this morning &#8211; so I knew it HAD to be in my house.\u00a0 Somewhere.<\/p>\n<p>I did the detective work.\u00a0 I retraced my steps.\u00a0 \u00a0Nothing.\u00a0 Nowhere in my house was there a phone.\u00a0 I looked under couch cushions.\u00a0 I searched a garbage I had just emptied.\u00a0 I know &#8211; disgusting.<\/p>\n<p>I was actually starting to panic.\u00a0 \u00a0 Where could it possibly be and how can I NOT REMEMBER where I left it?<\/p>\n<p>I searched cupboards, the fridge and the laundry room.\u00a0 Yup, even the washing machine.<\/p>\n<p>I looked under pillows and blankets on my bed, getting more flustered by the minute.\u00a0 Then my mind started racing and making things up.\u00a0 Did someone sneak into my house and steal my phone?\u00a0 Am I being punked by the ghosts my daughter insists we have in the house?<\/p>\n<p>It was embarrassing to witness me searching every cupboard, underneath every table and piece of furniture.\u00a0 My makeup table.\u00a0 The bathroom vanity. Opening doors, crawling on my hands and knees, desperate to find this device, that to be honest, I don&#8217;t even NEED for my workday.<\/p>\n<p>My kids finally woke up to find me frantically searching, laughing at how I couldn&#8217;t find my phone, which didn&#8217;t help much in the moment.<\/p>\n<p>I went back and forth all over the house.\u00a0 \u00a0And then &#8211; the Oprah &#8220;A-HA&#8221; moment as I went to leave my bedroom for the fourth time, and saw the bathrobe hanging on the back of my door.\u00a0 \u00a0That voice of reason in my head whispered &#8220;check the pockets&#8221;.\u00a0 \u00a0And there it was.\u00a0 \u00a0I was reunited with my phone and all was right with the world again.<\/p>\n<p>Have you ever lost something like that?\u00a0 \u00a0Where is the strangest place you&#8217;ve ever found something you lost?<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m just going to sit here for a minute and wait for my pulse to stop racing over something I wish didn&#8217;t matter so much.<\/p>\n<p>Stay connected and reach out to me anytime &#8211; <a href=\"mailto:cbuchanan@blackburnadio.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cbuchanan@blackburnadio.com<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Thankfully I have a Fitbit that notifies me when I have a call or I would have totally missed this morning&#8217;s podcast recording.\u00a0 Eve, Sarah and myself get together every Monday for a new Fox Talks podcast recording.\u00a0 \u00a0Usually we start with a Google Meet.\u00a0 But today I couldn&#8217;t find my phone.
