The older I get, the more thankful I feel and more grateful.\u00a0 As I stood observing the moment of silence, I couldn’t hold back the tears as I thought about the significance of this day.<\/p>\n

We have so many reasons to be thankful today.\u00a0 On this Remembrance Day, we remember, we honor, we salute and pay tribute to those who have fought for us to be here today and for the freedoms we get to enjoy.<\/p>\n

In Corunna they have pictures of soldiers on the lamp posts.\u00a0 \u00a0Someone’s son, father, brother, friend.\u00a0 A life gone too soon.\u00a0 Every day when I drive down that road I look at the pictures and think about who they were, what their stories were and feel thankful and proud to be in a community that honours the fallen.<\/p>\n

To those who have fought – we thank you.<\/p>\n

I feel so grateful to not know war or to have lost someone in the fight.\u00a0 I can’t even begin to imagine what that must be like.<\/p>\n

I know in our family, we had great grandfathers and uncles and cousins who fought.\u00a0 \u00a0My great aunt was a sergeant.\u00a0 I have her picture, but I regret not knowing the full story.\u00a0 Her name was Jessie.<\/p>\n

So much to be thankful for today.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\"\"<\/p>\n

With everything we have gone through the last year and a half or so, and with all the changes and things we have lost – we still live in a country that gives us so much.\u00a0 We don’t know war.\u00a0 For that I am grateful.<\/p>\n

There is no greater sacrifice.<\/p>\n

To those who have fought.\u00a0 To those who have died.\u00a0 To those who still serve.\u00a0 To the families and friends and loved ones left behind.<\/p>\n

Thank you.\u00a0 I would love for you to share your stories and pictures today so we can know the people behind the names and know the stories to help us remember and appreciate what we have.<\/p>\n
