I love plants but my thumb is nowhere near green.\u00a0 I try.\u00a0 Lord knows I try.\u00a0 I’m learning and I’m hoping someday all my plants will live more than a season.\u00a0 Some people are born with a green thumb.\u00a0 Others just hope some of that rubs off on them.<\/p>\n
That’s why I love going to the workshops offered at Sipkens Nurseries.\u00a0 I signed up for their plant propagation workshop this past Saturday.\u00a0 It was so much fun and just what this girl needed.<\/p>\n
Sitting in the greenhouse is a dream for me.\u00a0 I love it.\u00a0 It’s warm, sunny, and there are plants and flowers EVERYWHERE.\u00a0 Absolute heaven. It was great to see so many people come out and it was so nice to be in such a positive space.\u00a0 Everyone there was happy to be there, smiling and chatting and eager to learn and take home new plant babies of their own.<\/p>\n
After what feels like the longest winter ever, to see signs of life in the greenhouse was absolute joy.\u00a0 Pansies.\u00a0 Tulips.\u00a0 Other spring bulbs.\u00a0 House plants.\u00a0 Green – everywhere.\u00a0 \u00a0And to be in a room with other people just happy to be there felt so good.<\/p>\n
Thank you Sipkens for another fun and super informative workshop.\u00a0 \u00a0I think my biggest lesson to learn is practicing restraint when it comes to watering.\u00a0 My biggest takeaway that is going to help me keep my new plant babies alive is that the soil is like a sponge.\u00a0 No need to water it constantly.\u00a0 That’s my goal.<\/p>\n
I have four new plants Pilea Jobs Tears.\u00a0 Peperomia Glabella.\u00a0 Greenstar Gasteria.\u00a0 Ficus Starlight.\u00a0 \u00a0From what I learned – these SHOULD be easy to care for plants.<\/p>\n
Sounds like a challenge to me.<\/p>\n
