Lizzo explains she wanted to bring us the “song of the summer” with this single off her upcoming fourth studio album “Special” – out July 15.<\/p>\n
She says this song can lead into so many conversations.\u00a0 \u00a0“It’s about damn time I feel better, it’s about damn time we get out this pandemic,” “It’s about damn time we to get the first Black female Supreme Court Justice. There’s so many things. It’s about damn time we popped the champagne. It’s about damn time the tequila got here.”<\/p>\n
She says she’s writing songs\u00a0 \u201cabout love from every direction\u201d and hopes to \u201cturn a little bit of the fear that\u2019s been running rampant in this world, energetically into love.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI had a lot of fear, and I had to do the work on myself, and this music is some of that work in turning that fear into love. I hope that when people listen to this album, it makes their day just a little bit better, a little bit more filled with love,\u201d she said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
The new music comes right after bringing out her new all-inclusive shapewear line “Yitty” this week.\u00a0 The Press Release says the new line brings “self-love, radical inner confidence, and effortless, everyday wear” ranging in size from XS to 6X,<\/p>\n
Lizzo says\u00a0“I was tired of seeing this sad, restrictive shapewear that literally no-one wanted to wear. I had an epiphany like, ‘who can actually do something about this?’ I decided to take on the challenge of allowing women to feel unapologetically good about themselves again,”<\/p>\n
