{"id":19681,"date":"2022-05-27T09:00:41","date_gmt":"2022-05-27T13:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/cfgxfm\/?p=19681"},"modified":"2022-05-28T07:42:40","modified_gmt":"2022-05-28T11:42:40","slug":"feel-good-friday-exercise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/cfgxfm\/blogs\/afternoons-fridays\/2022\/05\/feel-good-friday-exercise\/","title":{"rendered":"Feel Good Friday &#8211; EXERCISE!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Every Friday the Fox teams up with the <a href=\"https:\/\/lambtonkent.cmha.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Canadian Mental Health Association Lambton Kent<\/a> for <strong><em>Feel Good Friday<\/em><\/strong>!\u00a0 Sharing things you can do to take care of yourself, focus on your mental health and help you feel <em>GOOD<\/em>!<\/p>\n<p>Today it&#8217;s about the power of <strong><em>EXERCISE<\/em><\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t roll your eyes.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t make a face.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t stop reading.\u00a0 \u00a0This is for your own good (smile) and it&#8217;s so much more fun that eating broccoli.\u00a0 Or brussels sprouts.\u00a0 (smile)<\/p>\n<p>So often we think of our mind and body as two separate things, BUT, did you know, that our <em>mental health<\/em> and<em> physical health<\/em> are <em>interconnected<\/em>?\u00a0 It&#8217;s true!<\/p>\n<p>For this week&#8217;s Feel Good Friday, we are talking about <em><strong>EXERCISE<\/strong><\/em>!\u00a0 \u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-19682 \" src=\"https:\/\/storage.briwebapp.net\/2022\/05\/895668aa-exercise-funny.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"279\" height=\"380\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ve probably heard that exercise is good for your mental wellbeing, but did you know, that exercise releases <em>feel-good chemicals in the brain?\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Just 10 minutes of walking can improve your<em> mental alertness, energy and mood<\/em>!\u00a0 Whether you are gardening or running a marathon, exercise can significantly improve your mental health and make you feel <em>less stressed, more focused,<\/em> and help <em>give you a sense of purpose<\/em>.\u00a0 That&#8217;s HUGE!<\/p>\n<p>There are lots of ways to exercise &#8211; take a walk, join a class &#8211;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ymcaswo.ca\/locations\/sarnia-lambton-ymca-jerry-mccaw-family-centre\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The YMCA Jerry McCaw Family Centre<\/a> will help to kick off to the <a href=\"https:\/\/chok.com\/contests\/2022\/05\/community-better-challenge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Community Better Challenge<\/a>.\u00a0 June 1st-4th you can TRY the Y for FREE!!
