I’ve got my team.\u00a0 I’ve got my shirt.\u00a0 And I am READY\/ NOT REALLY READY (smile) for the Race to Erase<\/a> happening on Saturday in Sarnia.<\/p>\n

I’m not a sporty person, so I’m hoping there are no skills required.\u00a0 I’m just happy to be there.<\/p>\n

The 15th “Annual” Race to Erase<\/a> is a chance to show your support for amazing local charities. Teams of four compete in fun challenges through the community, all in support of local charities.<\/p>\n

Each team chooses which charity they would like their funds to support and all the money raised goes to that local charity – 100% of funds received!\u00a0\u00a0The team I am on “Thing 1” is doing it for Sarnia Lambton Rebound<\/a> and I’m really excited to be doing something like this.\u00a0 Even if doing something I’ve never done is a bit scary.<\/p>\n

Prizes are handed out to the top fundraisers.<\/p>\n

On Race Day teams travel throughout their community, competing in a series of fun-filled challenges along the way. The team that finishes the challenges in the fastest time is crowned the Race to Erase champion.\u00a0 Not a running race.\u00a0 Thank God!\u00a0 (smile) The challenges are a combination of savvy and smarts – no goofy shorts required.\u00a0 But could be fun! (smile)<\/p>\n

Teams can collect donations in person, online, or a combination of both.<\/p>\n

Teams drive between the challenges, all hosted by local businesses and not-for-profits.\u00a0 The challenges are designed to be not only entertaining, but to raise awareness and exposure for the hosts. Our goal is to ensure that everyone finishes the Race knowing a little more about their community than they did at the start of the day.<\/p>\n

When the last challenge is completed, everyone meets back at the start for lunch and the awards ceremony. A trophy is handed out to the team that completes all of the challenges in the fastest time.<\/p>\n
