To me,\u00a0 Dan Edwards is a bit of legend.\u00a0 \u00a0A motivational speaker.\u00a0 \u00a0One of the most positive, inspirational people on the planet.\u00a0 Just reading some of his posts on social media, you feel better.<\/p>\n
And if you know his story, you might wonder HOW that’s even possible.\u00a0 How to stay positive and find the joy in the situation.\u00a0 How to take a tragedy of sorts, and turn it into something that continues to be a powerful force for good in the community that gave back to him and his family when he needed it most.<\/p>\n
It was an accident.\u00a0 Fooling around, wrestling with a friend, that led to a spinal injury that changed his life forever.\u00a0\u00a0The athlete that was good and excelled at all the sports was now in a wheelchair, learning to live life in a new way.<\/p>\n
I don’t know what that feels like.\u00a0 I don’t know what it’s like to have life turned upside down that way.\u00a0 I do know tragedy in another form.\u00a0 And I do know the struggle to turn it around.<\/p>\n
My story and Dan’s story are not the same, but I think we all have something that has changed who we are.\u00a0 Someone or something has broken us down.\u00a0 Damaged our spirit.\u00a0 Broken our hearts.<\/p>\n
“Everybody has a story that will break your heart.”\u00a0 I don’t know if that’s a lyric from a song, but it’s stuck with me.<\/p>\n
Today Dan joined me in the Fox studio and I was thrilled to sit and chat with him.\u00a0 He is like sunshine and just shines his light wherever he goes.\u00a0 I like people like that.\u00a0 I love that this community helped him when he needed it, and that led to him finding a way to give back.<\/p>\n
