Thank You Capstones!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last night we were treated to a very indulgent and decadent meal at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lambtoncollege.ca\/Capstones\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Capstones.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>What IS Capstones?\u00a0 Lambton College Culinary students are offering Chef&#8217;s Table seatings the newly rebranded CAPSTONES RESTAURANT (formerly Creations).<\/p>\n<p>Chef&#8217;s Table is a gourmet dining experience.\u00a0 All the menus are designed, prepared and served by Lambton College student Chefs under the supervision of their professors.\u00a0 The menu includes a themed appetizer, sorbet, main entre and dessert for just $65 including tax and gratuity.\u00a0 They are fully licensed with a wine and bar menu is available for an additional cost.<\/p>\n<p>The restaurant is open Wednesday and Thursday nights every week thru August 11th.<\/p>\n<p>So let me share a bit about the evening.<\/p>\n<p>Our dinner was at six and we arrived to a very elegant atmosphere.\u00a0 \u00a0Beautiful tables. Candlelight.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-19912 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.briwebapp.net\/2022\/06\/fbae8092-appetizer-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"237\" height=\"133\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We were seated by one of the students and our night began.<\/p>\n<p>To start we had a wonderful appetizer that I&#8217;m not sure I remember what it was called. But it was DELICIOUS.\u00a0 \u00a0Shredded pork. Onion.\u00a0 Pepper.\u00a0 Goat cheese.\u00a0 SO GOOD.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Then we moved on to the soup.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-19913 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.briwebapp.net\/2022\/06\/260fbe5c-soup-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Potage Parmentier &#8211; a creamy potato soup with the most delicious golden fried leek pockets.<\/p>\n<p>Yes.\u00a0 Delicious. Hard to describe the taste.<\/p>\n<p>The soup was creamy and so flavourful.\u00a0 The leek pockets were incredibly tasty.\u00a0 To me they were similar to a yorkshire pudding, but fried, and creamy and oh so good.\u00a0 And it was PRETTY.<\/p>\n<p>So much flavour.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We got to cleanse our palate with a lemony sorbet and then we were on to the main course.\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-19914\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.briwebapp.net\/2022\/06\/81c06d54-steak-e1654799809130-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"453\" height=\"254\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Steak Frites &#8211;\u00a0A French brasserie classic with grilled ribeye steak, herbed rosemary thyme compound butter,\u00a0rustic cut fries and watercress garnish.\u00a0 Um, is this what Heaven is like?\u00a0 Exceptional.\u00a0 Sorry, my picture doesn&#8217;t do it justice.\u00a0 The presentation was beautiful.<\/p>\n<p>And then for dessert we were treated to\u00a0Cr\u00e8me Caramel aux Poires.\u00a0Pear flavoured Cr\u00e8me caramel garnished with fresh berries and spun sugar.<\/p>\n<p>It was a fun night out with\u00a0co-workers, with amazing food, lots of laughs and a super talented crew of Lambton College culinary students who served with a smile.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you to the student chefs: Ranjeet and Shubhendu.\u00a0 AMAZING FOOD!\u00a0 You are incredibly good at what you do.<\/p>\n<p>Next week&#8217;s theme is Italian, followed by Thai, Canadian, South America and Greek with more to come.<\/p>\n<p>A special night out with delicious food.
