Oh you guys.\u00a0 This was such a good read.\u00a0 Uplifting.\u00a0 Encouraging. Thoughtful.<\/p>\n
If you have ever thought or said something negative about yourself – read this book.\u00a0 If you’ve stepped on the scale, watched your weight obsessively or not, felt not good enough, – read this book.<\/p>\n
I grew up watching Valerie on “One Day At A Time” and I always thought she was so funny.\u00a0 And beautiful.\u00a0 And I kinda wished to be a little more like “Barbara”.<\/p>\n
We watched as she married a rock star.\u00a0 A bit of a surprise to some.\u00a0 She married Eddie Van Halen.\u00a0 Together they had a son – Wolfgang Van Halen.\u00a0 Who is successful in his own right, making music, just like his late dad.<\/p>\n
In this book you realize just how strong a bond they had.\u00a0 How much they really loved each other.\u00a0 They had a beautiful love story even if they couldn’t stay married.<\/p>\n
In her book it’s so easy to identify and relate to the many struggles we all seem to feel.\u00a0 Women and men alike.\u00a0 Dealing with those negative thoughts in our heads that tell us we just aren’t enough.\u00a0 Not think enough.\u00a0 Not pretty enough.\u00a0 Not smart enough.\u00a0 Not enough of a wife\/ mother\/ daughter\/ friend.\u00a0 \u00a0We can be our own worst enemy and tend to say and think things about ourselves that we wouldn’t dare to say to our kids or best friend.\u00a0 The question is why?\u00a0 And how do we turn that conversation around?<\/p>\n
Valerie shares from her heart what so many of us think and feel, and shares openly and honestly not only her struggles but the challenges and heartbreak that she has been through in her lifetime.<\/p>\n
Insecurity.\u00a0 Doubt.\u00a0 Fear.\u00a0 Relationships.\u00a0 Career.\u00a0 Motherhood.<\/p>\n
Sharing her life on the pages – you can’t help but feel for her, nod your head, and come to the same conclusions by the end of the book “Enough Already”.\u00a0 \u00a0Enough of the negative thoughts and talk.\u00a0 Enough looking in the mirror and only seeing the flaws.\u00a0 \u00a0Enough talking down to ourselves.\u00a0 Accepting less than what we deserve.<\/p>\n
So good.<\/p>\n
