<\/p>\nI admit, I’m feeling a bit emotional today after that impressive funeral service for Queen Elizabeth.\u00a0 Unlike anything I have ever watched.\u00a0 \u00a0I admit, I was glued to the screen.\u00a0 It’s odd, isn’t it?\u00a0 To feel compelled to watch such a sad event, and\u00a0to be a part of something for someone you never really knew?\u00a0 But I am so glad I did.\u00a0 \u00a0All six hours.<\/p>\n
The way I see it, it’s a part of history we won’t forget.\u00a0 The end of an era.\u00a0\u00a0A beautiful goodbye to the longest reigning monarch in history.<\/p>\n
So much history.\u00a0 Tradition.\u00a0 Pageantry.\u00a0 A beautiful sendoff.\u00a0 Some say it was her last duty to the people.\u00a0 Giving people the chance to say goodbye.<\/p>\n
What did you think?\u00a0 I thought it was a beautiful service.\u00a0 Again, to see her four kids, including the new King Charles III, Prince William – the new Prince of Wales- and Prince Harry, walking behind.\u00a0 Williams kids.\u00a0 George and Charlotte.<\/p>\n
To see the staff of Buckingham Palace stand in a line out front, paying their respects.\u00a0 You could see the sadness on their faces.<\/p>\n
The music.\u00a0 The last post.\u00a0 The moment of silence. The bagpipes.<\/p>\n
The tears.\u00a0 Yes, there were tears.<\/p>\n
So many uniforms.\u00a0 The enormous crowds which takes me back to the funeral of Princess Diana where I remember people weeping loudly as the hearse drove past.<\/p>\n
It was an emotional moment at the final ceremony when they removed the crown, scepter and orb from the top of the coffin.\u00a0 The instruments of state.\u00a0 Set aside, to be presented in a different ceremony for the new King Charles III.\u00a0 The breaking of the stick.\u00a0 Signifying the end of the Queen’s reign and the beginning of the new.<\/p>\n
The singing of God Save The King at the end. How strange.\u00a0 Change will be hard.<\/p>\n
I can’t imagine what Charles must be feeling in that moment.\u00a0 Heartbreaking.\u00a0 \u00a0The only reason he can be king is to lose his mother.\u00a0 So sad.<\/p>\n
Overall, a beautiful ceremony.\u00a0A moment in time that will stay with me for the rest of my life.<\/p>\n
I think of the family.\u00a0 Of her children.\u00a0 The new king.\u00a0 The grandkids and great grandkids.\u00a0\u00a0I can’t imagine how exhausting this must be for the family.\u00a0 Those who knew her best.<\/p>\n
My heart goes out to all who knew and loved her.<\/p>\n
There will be a private service for the royal family later today, and the Queen will be laid to rest in St. George’s Chapel next to her husband Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, who died last year.<\/p>\n
