Dear Juliana,<\/p>\n
The day I heard the news of you,
\nMy heart smiled because I knew
\nI would always have a child to simply love,
\nWith all the best your Aunt\u2019s made of.<\/p>\n
I would brighten to think of you,
\nAnd imagine all the things we\u2019d do.<\/p>\n
I\u2019d invent silly sounds and faces,
\nAnd you and I would visit many places.
\nYou\u2019d paint pictures just for me
\nWe would dance, sing and party!<\/p>\n
I\u2019d glow from the twinkle in your eyes,
\nEach time your special Aunt stopped by.
\nYou\u2019d lead me by the hand to play,
\nInsist I never leave, but stay.<\/p>\n
You\u2019d love to call me on the phone,
\nI\u2019d marvel at how much you\u2019d grown.
\nI\u2019d tell tales from your parents\u2019 youth,
\nCherish photos of you with a missing tooth.<\/p>\n
When you were born, I welcomed you.
\nYou were our family\u2019s dream come true.
\nA little angel now ours to hold,
\nYour Aunt\u2019s heart blossoms and unfolds.<\/p>\n
I was love-struck, I held you tight.
\nYour new life made the world seem right.
\nLike a big sister and best friend,
\nI\u2019d be there for you again and again.<\/p>\n
The day I hear the news of you,
\nMy heart smiled, because I knew,
\nA friend to always simply love,
\nAnd give the best your Aunt\u2019s made of.<\/p>\n
I know time will inevitably turn you into an adult, and my role as your Aunt will evolve as you mature. I want you to know that no matter your age, I\u2019ll always play with you, my arms will never grow tired of your hugs and my door is always open for a visit from you. Thank you for making my life fuller. <\/p>\n
