{"id":23071,"date":"2023-03-03T10:21:35","date_gmt":"2023-03-03T15:21:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/cfgxfm\/?p=23071"},"modified":"2023-03-03T10:21:35","modified_gmt":"2023-03-03T15:21:35","slug":"feel-good-friday-time-to-meal-prep","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/cfgxfm\/blogs\/afternoons-fridays\/2023\/03\/feel-good-friday-time-to-meal-prep\/","title":{"rendered":"Feel Good Friday &#8211; Time To Meal Prep"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Every Friday the Fox teams up with the <a href=\"https:\/\/lambtonkent.cmha.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Canadian Mental Health Association Lambton Kent<\/a> for Feel Good Friday!\u00a0 Sharing things you can do to take care of yourself, focus on your mental health and help you feel GOOD!<\/p>\n<p>Today it&#8217;s all about meal prep.\u00a0 I love to meal prep.\u00a0 It&#8217;s one of my favourite things to do on the weekend.\u00a0 I love cleaning out the fridge, checking the cupboards to see what we have and then looking at the flyers for all the deals, checking recipe books &#8211; and then making a list of what we&#8217;ll be eating through the next week.\u00a0 It&#8217;s helped me to stay organized, life feels less crazy, and it helps me save money at the grocery store and waste less food.\u00a0 Win win.<\/p>\n<p>And when I make something nobody likes, I know about it days in advance.\u00a0 (smile)<\/p>\n<p>Who knew meal prepping could be a way to boost your mental health!~<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<blockquote><p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><em><strong>Did you ever think that meal prepping could be a way to boost your mental health? Research shows a significant association between those who meal prep and higher self-rated mental health and lower stress levels! It also helps relieve anxiety and helps you to have a sense of control about the week ahead.&#8221;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Now that&#8217;s cool to know.\u00a0 So here&#8217;s your homework for the weekend.\u00a0 Put together a list of meals\/ snacks for the week ahead.\u00a0 Get the whole family involved in the process.\u00a0 Let someone pick a favourite meal each day.<\/p>\n<p>I know that for me, anything that helps me feel in control of something, makes a big difference to my mental health.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>CMHA Lambton Kent is here to help and our Mental Health First Response Team is available 24\/7.
