Hello there!\u00a0 It’s been a while.\u00a0 Someone emailed me recently asking about where I’ve been.\u00a0 I haven’t been sharing any heart to heart blogs with you recently.\u00a0 I’m sorry.<\/p>\n
I guess I got busy.\u00a0 Maybe there wasn’t a lot to say.<\/p>\n
There’s a lot going on right now!\u00a0 Look at the Sarnia Sting!\u00a0 How proud are we of this team?\u00a0 No matter what happens – to make the playoffs and come this far is something to be celebrated.\u00a0 I got my jersey on today and am excited about the game tonight. Yup. I jumped on the bandwagon too.\u00a0 I’m not a sports girl but this moment is pretty special.\u00a0 It’s a sold out crowd tonight at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena.\u00a0 Lots of places to go and watch the game while sitting and having something to eat and drink. And you can always listen to the game on your radio or smart speaker – tune into our sister station CHOK (103.9 FM\/1070 AM).\u00a0 Whatever you do, be loud, cheer loud, and let’s show London how to play hockey and how a community shows up for their team.<\/p>\n
The Coronation of King Charles III<\/a> is this Saturday and while I haven’t heard of any events locally you can go to watch and celebrate – I know I will be watching in my house, even if that means getting up before the sun. If only because it’s a moment in time I will never get to witness again.\u00a0 Queen Elizabeth II was always Queen as long as I can remember. This will be a piece of history.\u00a0 Something to remember.\u00a0 For those interested I found this special recipe online – an easy coronation chicken salad<\/a> – I’ll probably just have a “spot of tea” and a crumpet.\u00a0 Put on a hat and take in the festivities from my living room.<\/p>\n I watched Michelle Obama’s latest Netflix special “The Light We Carry”.\u00a0 SO GOOD.\u00a0 Oprah hosts the event. I love Michelle’s honesty and realness.\u00a0 She talks about how hard marriage is, the importance of sticking with it when it’s hard, parenting, and even addresses menopause!\u00a0 Oh how we need more open and real conversations in our lives.\u00a0 Normally we see those in the spotlight, and it looks like they have it all together.\u00a0 \u00a0Michelle opens up on so much and it’s encouraging and refreshing.\u00a0 If you haven’t watched yet, add it to your list.\u00a0 It’s good.\u00a0 I want to read her book but I’m still working my way through “Becoming” her last book, and I have “Spare to finish and a few others on the go.<\/p>\n I’m trying to make time for what matters and it feels like there is never enough time in the day to do it all.\u00a0 It’s one of the things Michelle addresses in the special.\u00a0 You CAN have it all.\u00a0 Just not all at once. (smile)<\/p>\n Working on starting my day earlier.\u00a0 Not hitting snooze.\u00a0 (It’s amazing the difference in how you feel if you DON’T hit the snooze button!)\u00a0 Mel Robbins talks about it in a book and so far, in the few weeks I’ve started doing it, I’m noticing I am not as tired, and I have more time in the morning to get things done.<\/p>\n Pretty sure this whole perimenopause I am “unofficially” in is getting a little easier to manage.\u00a0 I’ve been introduced to “seed cycling” by a nutritionist (Cathy McRae\/ Coming Alive Nutrition -if you’re interested).\u00a0 And I’m trying to eat more veggies and less junk food.\u00a0 Some days are easier than others.\u00a0 This past weekend was not one of those days.\u00a0 (smile)<\/p>\n I’m slightly obsessed with The Young and the Restless still.\u00a0 I spend way too much of my time sweeping up dog hair – our dog sheds like crazy right now.\u00a0 I’m doing an exercise program that I love (you could do it with me if you want too!\u00a0 I’ve got a fun group and we’re doing it together!).\u00a0 My home office\/ craft room is a mess and it’s my goal to get it organized this month.\u00a0 Wish me luck on that.<\/p>\n It’s incredibly sad to hear of the passing of the legend – Gordon Lightfoot.\u00a0 He was often called Canada\u2019s greatest songwriters and known worldwide as one of the founding fathers of folk rock has died at 84.\u00a0 An artist I have always appreciated.\u00a0 As long as I can remember music, there has always been Gordon Lightfoot. We studied his music in elementary school. I remember learning about The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald and learning the song to sing in class. History and music all in one.\u00a0 His music inspired many.\u00a0 His music was performed by so many big names including Barbra Streisand, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash.\u00a0 He was proud of his country, his community and his roots.\u00a0 So many things to say about the man. A true inspiration to many.\u00a0 He will be missed, but his legend will live on with his music.<\/p>\n One of my favourite songs “Sundown” –\u00a0
