<\/p>\nI know guys get a bad wrap for being babies when they are sick.\u00a0 I tend to disagree.\u00a0 My husband will never cave to illness or injury.\u00a0 He’s unstoppable. Indestructable.<\/p>\n
I on the other hand have no problem caving, wallowing and letting everyone around me I’m down for the count.\u00a0 The seasonal cold has hit our home.\u00a0 Even our dog has an ear infection. (smile)<\/p>\n
Others in the house may go about their business.\u00a0 I will lay on the couch, comfy clothes and warm blankets.\u00a0 A tissue box close by.\u00a0 Some sort of beverage.\u00a0 Cough drops.\u00a0 And the remote control.\u00a0 \u00a0And I will do nothing else.\u00a0 \u00a0I’ve learned over the years that it really is the best medicine to just rest.\u00a0 IF you can, I guess.\u00a0 Different story now that my kids are older and can do things for themselves.<\/p>\n
I took a sick day on Friday and used it to catch up on Virgin River.\u00a0 I caught up on the last of Season 4 and binge watched the entire 5th season in a few days.\u00a0 It was great.<\/p>\n
But it’s also messing with me a bit.\u00a0 I mean, that’s a lot of hours spent on one show.\u00a0 I almost feel like I’m part of the cast and crew.\u00a0 I feel like I just got back from Virgin River.\u00a0 Why is so hard to say no to one more episode?\u00a0 Why do we feel compelled to keep watching?\u00a0 (smile).\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
Remember the olden days?\u00a0 As my kids would say.\u00a0 You had a sick day, or a day home from school, and you had the old standbys.\u00a0 We also had gingerale and soda crackers.\u00a0 Maybe some chicken noodle soup.\u00a0 Vicks vapour rub.\u00a0 And the Price is Right was always on the tv followed by the cheesiest daytime shows in the afternoon which is usually when we took our nap!\u00a0 lol<\/p>\n
Do you have trouble resting and taking it easy when you’re sick?\u00a0 Are you the type to work through anything, no matter what?\u00a0 \u00a0How do you take care of yourself when you’re not feeling well?<\/p>\n
And for the record – Season Five of Virgin River.\u00a0 OMG.\u00a0 That ending.<\/p>\n
