Just released — Here and Now.\u00a0 It’s a brand new single from the Beatles.\u00a0 I know what you’re thinking.\u00a0 But how?<\/p>\n
It started when a few tapes were found by Yoko Ono of the late John Lennon.\u00a0 The remaining Beatles – Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison knew they needed to finish the song.\u00a0 Technology made it near impossible in 1995.\u00a0 But with the help of today’s technology – we now have what they are officially calling the LAST Beatles song.<\/p>\n
I’ve seriously got goosebumps and tears.<\/p>\n
As someone who grew up listening to all kinds of music, one of the first records I remember listening to and dancing around the living room with as a kid – was The Beatles.\u00a0 My mom loved music and she loved the Beatles.<\/p>\n
I grew up listening to all kinds of music and I have always loved the Beatles.\u00a0 \u00a0We studied their music in elementary school.\u00a0 I remember having the lyrics to Eleanor Rigby, Strawberry Fields, Penny Lane and more and studying the meaning.\u00a0 At the time it was a fun project.\u00a0 Looking back, I’m guessing my teacher was a fan of the Beatles.<\/p>\n
That is how my love of the Beatles started.\u00a0 There was just something about them and the music that drew me in.<\/p>\n
Over time my record collection grew.\u00a0 There is just something so special about putting the vinyl on the record player and getting lost in the music.\u00a0 I’ve always imagined what Beatlemania must have been like.<\/p>\n
I’m not sure what it is about the Beatles but I just love who they were as a band and as individuals.<\/p>\n
I’ve listened to the music and I’ve watched the documentaries.\u00a0 I’ve been fascinated.\u00a0 I love getting to know the artists as people.\u00a0 Who they\u00a0are and where they come from.<\/p>\n
John Lennon was brilliant, but troubled.\u00a0 His life ended tragically.\u00a0 Shot and killed by a deranged fan.\u00a0 He was imperfect, absolutely.\u00a0 Talented.\u00a0 For sure.\u00a0 So unfair he was taken far too soon.\u00a0 I have been fascinated by him for so long.\u00a0 How odd to have such admiration and respect for someone you’ve never met.<\/p>\n
Paul McCartney as well.\u00a0 \u00a0Amazing talent.\u00a0 His ability to write music is impressive.\u00a0 Hey Jude probably my favourite to listen to, mostly because it reminds me of my mom and she used to sing it a lot around the house.\u00a0 Her name was Judy so I’m guessing she loved it more.\u00a0 (smile)<\/p>\n
I got into this business because of my love of music.\u00a0 To sit here today with a new Beatles track in my hands and get to share that with the world feels pretty amazing.<\/p>\n
My heart is beating so fast right now.\u00a0 I’m so excited for this.<\/p>\n
