All I need to do is hear the first few notes of the theme song and I am transported back in time to the days I was glued to the television to watch Little House on the Prairie.\u00a0 I admit I smile, and maybe even tear up a little thinking about the show and just how much it meant to me as a kid.\u00a0 Gosh I loved it.\u00a0 I loved Laura Ingalls.\u00a0 I love the comfort the show brought.<\/p>\n
Now, being older, I still love to watch the show when I catch it in reruns.\u00a0 \u00a0It’s different though.\u00a0 The perspective has changed.\u00a0 Now, instead of relating only to Laura, I relate to “Ma Ingalls”.\u00a0 \u00a0I relate to her as a female and as a mother.\u00a0 I see a different side of her character and love it even more.<\/p>\n
I love what this show brings to the world.\u00a0 Community.\u00a0 Family.\u00a0 Honesty.\u00a0 Doing good for others.\u00a0 The value of hard work.\u00a0 Discipline.\u00a0 Overcoming hardship.<\/p>\n
So much good in this little show that lasted for nine seasons.<\/p>\n
This September it’s celebrating it’s 50th year anniversary.\u00a0 I can’t even believe that.\u00a0 \u00a0A few of the remaining cast members, including Melissa Gilbert and Alison Arngrim and Ma Ingalls herself Karen Grassle got together recently to discuss the show.<\/a>\u00a0 \u00a0They got back together at Big Sky Ranch in Simi Valley, California, where the show was filmed from 1974 – 1982.\u00a0 All in celebration for a recent fan event known as Prairie Palooza.<\/p>\n I had no idea such an event existed and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want to go there.\u00a0 I just found a new bucket list item.<\/p>\n Are you a fan of the show?<\/p>\n
