Wham!’s “Last Christmas” celebrates it’s 40th year anniversary this year, and to celebrate, not only a special edition of the song on vinyl being released, but a new documentary on Netflix called Wham! Last Christmas Unwrapped.<\/p>\n
It’s a behind the scenes telling the story of how the song became such a classic.\u00a0 You can credit George Michael for the song.\u00a0 He wrote it and put it together himself.\u00a0 All the band wanted was a number one Christmas song to cement their success as a band.\u00a0 They had already had an incredibly successful year – but they wanted that one thing.\u00a0 A number one Christmas hit.<\/p>\n
It almost happened.\u00a0 If it weren’t for one other huge song coming along at the same time.\u00a0 Band Aid’s “Do They Know It’s Christmas” went number one.\u00a0 Wham!’s Last Christmas made it to number two.\u00a0 What you will learn in this documentary, is that George Michael (who participated in the Band Aid hit) donated all royalties to the Band Aid charity.<\/p>\n
