{"id":32448,"date":"2025-02-21T10:57:35","date_gmt":"2025-02-21T15:57:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/cfgxfm\/?p=32448"},"modified":"2025-02-21T13:26:21","modified_gmt":"2025-02-21T18:26:21","slug":"the-view-from-here-more-than-a-hockey-game","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/cfgxfm\/blogs\/afternoons\/2025\/02\/the-view-from-here-more-than-a-hockey-game\/","title":{"rendered":"The View From Here &#8211; More Than A Hockey Game"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have never been so invested in a hockey game in my life.\u00a0 Seriously.\u00a0 NEVER.<\/p>\n<p>My husband went to bed before the end of the second period and I &#8211; (who admittedly does not love sports) &#8211; stayed up and continued to watch the hockey game.\u00a0 Yeah, THAT hockey game.<\/p>\n<p>Four Nations Face Off.\u00a0 Canada VS USA.<\/p>\n<p>We are used to rivalry.\u00a0 We&#8217;ve done this before.\u00a0 But this game was DIFFERENT.\u00a0 With all that is going on with our two countries right now &#8211; we needed this game and we needed this win.<\/p>\n<p>The energy in that building was electric.<\/p>\n<p>I will be honest.\u00a0 I did not stay up for the end.\u00a0 I couldn&#8217;t.\u00a0 It was too close.\u00a0 I didn&#8217;t want to see Canada lose.\u00a0\u00a0My heart was already feeling broken from the boos from the crowd.\u00a0 During the anthem, as Chantal Kreviazuk sang, as the players names were announced as they took to the ice &#8211; I struggled with that.
