<\/p>\nI’m not even a bit embarrassed to say that I am caught up in the excitement over the new Taylor Swift album.\u00a0 Yesterday I spent way too much time on social media, watching endless video streams of “Swifties” dissecting every little detail leading up to the album release.\u00a0 Swifties are pretty amazing and I’m not really sure how they figure out what they do.\u00a0 I’m not sure how they look for clues and then figure out so much information from a statue or a book title or an image, but they do.<\/p>\n
It’s been a really long time since I got excited about an album release to the point where I actually listened to it, track by track, trying to understand the meaning behind the lyrics.\u00a0 It’s been a really long time since I was this invested in a brand new release.\u00a0 Here I am.\u00a0 A Swiftie after all.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
What do YOU think of the new album?\u00a0 I’m nowhere near the level of most Swifties who have taken a deep dive into the lyrics, trying to understand it all.\u00a0 But there are for sure a few songs that I love.\u00a0 Fate of Ophelia for sure is a love story about Travis.\u00a0 It has to be, right?\u00a0 I love Elizabeth Taylor.\u00a0 \u00a0Actually Romantic.\u00a0 Trying to figure out who that one is about, but it’s not a love song.\u00a0 Maybe a love song for haters?\u00a0 I love Opalite.\u00a0 Cancelled is good too.\u00a0 Camaraderie in going through something together I guess.<\/p>\n
Until I have the album in my hands – and yes, it has to be vinyl, with lyrics, to hold in my hand as I listen.\u00a0 That will always be my favourite way to listen to music no matter what.\u00a0 Streaming just doesn’t have that kind of power.\u00a0 There will never be anything like holding a new album in your hands and looking through the liner notes, and reading the lyrics and looking at every picture that has been shared.\u00a0 It’s magic.<\/p>\n
Today I have been listening to The Life of a Showgirl on repeat.\u00a0 Disecting the lyrics.\u00a0 Trying to understand what or who it’s about.\u00a0 And to me, I love to see the words as I hear the music.\u00a0 For anyone else that likes to do that too — click HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n So today will be about Taylor.\u00a0 And a new album that brings a new era of her music.\u00a0 Taylor in love.\u00a0 Taylor writing and recording in the middle of the craziest, busiest tour she has ever done.\u00a0 Taylor that has come through so much and has so much more to say.\u00a0 I’m here for it.<\/p>\n Tell me what you think of the album.\u00a0 Favourites?\u00a0 Any ideas what some of the songs are about?\u00a0 Lots of speculation for sure.\u00a0 There isn’t enough time in the day to read through every mention of it online.\u00a0 As for those easter eggs?\u00a0 Click HERE<\/a> to find out more.<\/p>\n I’m super excited to go see The\u00a0Official Release Party of a Showgirl\u201d playing at Sarnia Cineplex today through Sunday.\u00a0 Unfortunately, I don’t have anything sequined, or feathery.\u00a0 I’ve been seeing many posts of Swifties planning big events out of the movie, and wearing the right “fit” is all part of the fun.\u00a0 I would appreciate a friendship bracelet though.
