I was shopping with my youngest daughter last night and we “accidentally” ended up at Starbucks<\/a> to try the new Tie-Dye Frappuccino.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Oh my.\u00a0 But it was delicious.\u00a0 Served with a side of nostalgia.<\/p>\n

I am a girl that loves the pretty drinks.\u00a0 The “fun” drinks.<\/p>\n

Frappuccino’s<\/em> are a new love for me.\u00a0 I mean, if you have to save up your money to buy it (smile), it’s not something I do often.\u00a0 But it’s summer time and I was spending quality time with my thirteen year old so we allowed the indulgence.<\/p>\n

Let me tell you – it was an incredibly delightful summer drink.<\/p>\n

I was excited to try it and just as excited to watch them make it.\u00a0 \u00a0May I suggest you be patient with those who work behind the counter?\u00a0 This drink doesn’t get assembled easily.\u00a0 It LOOKS LIKE a complicated process. Lining the cup with different colours.\u00a0 A yellow mix.\u00a0 The whipped cream.\u00a0 Coloured powder on top.\u00a0 I was in awe of the process and commend all of those working to make this latest trendy drink.\u00a0 From what I have seen on line, the baristas aren’t thrilled to have to make it. It’s complicated and a lot more work than the fancy coffees.<\/p>\n

My daughter and I sipped our drinks and analyzed it’s beauty, and it’s taste.\u00a0 We struggled to think of what it tasted like.\u00a0 A familiar taste.\u00a0 But so hard to put your finger on.<\/p>\n

Lemonade?\u00a0 Banana? Hint of pineapple?\u00a0 What WAS that taste? So familiar but hard to put your finger on.\u00a0 Not overpowering at all.\u00a0 But so familiar!\u00a0 Some have said it tastes like Laffy Taffy.\u00a0 Others the stick that comes in Fun Dip.<\/p>\n

And then it came to me!<\/p>\n

You know what it reminds me of?\u00a0 Those banana flavoured popsicles we used to have as kids. I’m not even sure they’re around anymore.\u00a0 They would come in two, and you would break them up and share with a friend. But I remember, from when I was younger, those banana flavoured ones were my favourite.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

And as you get to the end of the drink, and the whipped cream blends with the flavour, it starts to taste like banana cream pie in a weird way.<\/p>\n

And here’s a fun fact – it gets it’s\u00a0crazy coloring from turmeric, red beets and spirulina. Bring on the antioxidants!\u00a0 Which means, it’s good for you, right? (smile)<\/p>\n

I enjoyed it.<\/p>\n

Would I have it again?\u00a0 Probably not.\u00a0 Not because I didn’t love it.\u00a0 But some things are bucket list worthy, you check it off, and then you’re done.<\/p>\n
