I’ve seen so many posts today about remembering 9\/11.<\/p>\n
Do you remember?<\/p>\n
I do. I remember getting ready to do my on air shift, for our sister station down the hall at the time.\u00a0 The first plane had just hit and people were trying to figure out what happened. A small plane? An accident? In the confusion, trying to make sense of it, the second plane hit and everything shifted and the world was forever changed.<\/p>\n
I think most of us were glued to the news.\u00a0 Watching the images in horror.\u00a0 Trying to wrap our heads around what happened.<\/p>\n
The number of people that lost their lives that day is beyond our ability to understand.<\/p>\n
Driven out of pure hate.\u00a0 No compassion.\u00a0 No understanding.\u00a0 So many lives gone forever.<\/p>\n
I was shocked today to learn that they are still in the process of identification.\u00a0 18 years later.<\/p>\n
It’s a time in our lives that we will never forget.\u00a0 We will never forget the images and we will never, ever forget how we felt.<\/p>\n
Hopeless. Scared. Useless. Angry.\u00a0 Sad.<\/p>\n
When the towers fell it got worse. Then there were the other planes.<\/p>\n
But more than the devastation and sorrow, we need to remember the heroes.\u00a0 Those who went in to the fight.\u00a0 Those who saved lives.\u00a0 Those who were there to clean up the mess.<\/p>\n
We need to remember every life touched by that tremendous loss and think of them today.<\/p>\n
No.\u00a0 We will never forget.<\/p>\n
