How do you feel about getting older?\u00a0 I say “bring it on!”\u00a0 I love my birthday and all that comes with it.<\/p>\n
I took the day off on Thursday to celebrate my birthday and take advantage of all the freebies – and it was awesome!\u00a0 It was so nice to have the day to soak it all up.\u00a0 No distraction.\u00a0 A day to do it all or do nothing.\u00a0 I decided I would take advantage of some freebies and I finally used a gift card I had for a facial.\u00a0 It was such a great day.\u00a0 I highly recommend taking the day to yourself for your birthday!<\/p>\n
A free Big Mary from Mary Brown’s.\u00a0 A free beverage of choice from Starbucks. Salted Caramel Latte – Venti.\u00a0 Go big or go home.<\/p>\n
A free burger from Harvey’s.\u00a0 A “birthday burger”.<\/p>\n
Each stop a smile and a “Happy Birthday”.\u00a0 It was so nice!<\/p>\n
A walk through Canatara Park in the hopes of spotting some Monarchs, wishing to see some last minute travellers.\u00a0 No such luck.<\/p>\n
Spoiled by my family in a really big way.<\/p>\n
And then off to camping this weekend in the Pinery with family.\u00a0 It was absolutely beautiful there.\u00a0 The campsites were huge.\u00a0 It was a bit cold at night, but that is fixed by sitting around the fire toasting marshmallows and telling stories, sharing a few laughs.<\/p>\n
Three cardinals greeted my brother and myself on Monday morning, as we sat in our camp chairs, coffee in hand.\u00a0 \u00a0We took it as a sign from above, our mom, brother and sister, paying us a visit, saying hello.<\/p>\n
I don’t focus on the number anymore.\u00a0 I refuse to be upset with getting older when so many don’t get the chance.\u00a0 I celebrate my birthday and everything that goes with it.<\/p>\n
It’s not about the stuff.<\/p>\n
It’s the experience.\u00a0 The reflection.\u00a0 Reminding yourself that you are perfectly imperfect.\u00a0 You are where you are meant to be.<\/p>\n
There’s a quote I love – “In order to be who I was born to become, life couldn’t have happened any other way”<\/p>\n
The good, the bad, the happy, the sad.<\/p>\n
It all had to happen to get you to where you are right now.<\/p>\n
Don’t wait for someone to buy you flowers or celebrate YOU.\u00a0 \u00a0You have to be your biggest cheerleader in this world.<\/p>\n
Enjoy all that life throws your way.\u00a0 Celebrate all of it.<\/p>\n
I know I’m finally realizing just how important it is.<\/p>\n
How do you celebrate your birthday?\u00a0 Is it a big deal or something you keep closely guarded and top secret?<\/p>\n
I love another year to do it all.<\/p>\n
