People aren’t loving this new ad from Peloton.<\/a>\u00a0 You know what Peloton is?\u00a0 The indoor bike that most of us can’t afford.<\/p>\n

They released a new holiday ad and people are HATING it,\u00a0accusing Peloton of pushing “negative body image, unchecked privilege, and gross marital dynamics.”\u00a0 \u00a0Ouch.<\/p>\n

People say the girl is already thin.<\/p>\n

A husband should never gift exercise equipment.<\/p>\n

She seems to be seeking his approval.<\/p>\n

There is even a parody video making the rounds. A few actually.<\/p>\n

My thoughts?<\/p>\n

Thin doesn’t equal health.\u00a0 Maybe she is truly excited about the new piece of very expensive equipment because she actually ASKED for it.\u00a0 I ask my husband for workout stuff all the time, although he continuously tells me he’ll never gift me with workout stuff.\u00a0 I’m sure for fear of judgement.\u00a0 (smile)<\/p>\n

Peloton has responded and released a statement.\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0\u201cOur holiday spot was created to celebrate that fitness and wellness journey. While we\u2019re disappointed in how some have misinterpreted this commercial, we are encouraged by \u2014 and grateful for \u2014 the outpouring of support we\u2019ve received from those who understand what we were trying to communicate.\u201d<\/p>\n
