<\/p>\nWhat does your view from home look like?<\/p>\n
I’m lucky.\u00a0 I’m still working.\u00a0 \u00a0But from home.\u00a0 My scrapbook room to be honest.\u00a0 I’m surrounded by pictures and photo albums, books I’ve always wanted to read, a vision board to remind me of my goals and dreams, Beatles pictures, and a sign reminding me to pray about everything.<\/p>\n
I sit in my little space.\u00a0 My little safe space.\u00a0 Looking out the window.\u00a0 The birds are my entertainment.<\/p>\n
I know I’m lucky.\u00a0 I’m thankful.<\/p>\n
When I first started working from home I felt like a kid in a candy store.<\/p>\n
The first to go was the dress code.\u00a0 “I can wear WHATEVER I want now!\u00a0 I can work in my pj’s if I want to!”\u00a0 Slippers.\u00a0 Comfy clothes.\u00a0 \u00a0I checked email in my bath robe one day.\u00a0 A towel on my head, my hair still wet from the shower.<\/p>\n

There was this sense of freedom in the first week of being at home.<\/p>\n
The realization that I can take break and have as much coffee as I wanted.<\/p>\n
More time to sleep because I didn’t have to be up so early.<\/p>\n
The commute is literally steps from the bedroom.<\/p>\n
So I got a small thrill from working in ripped jeans and fun t-shirts, sometimes my workout shirts because of their fun and sarcastic sayings.\u00a0 That lifted my spirits and put a smile on my face.<\/p>\n
Sweatshirts.\u00a0 Hair in a messy bun.\u00a0 No make-up. And endless cups of coffee.<\/p>\n
The second week I wasn’t so excited.\u00a0 I was missing co-workers.\u00a0 I was missing the drive to work and back.<\/p>\n
This week is different again.\u00a0 I’m starting to crave that routine I’ve been missing.\u00a0 I’m getting a little bit lazier in some ways.\u00a0 In others, I’m missing the structure of the regular workday.<\/p>\n
I’m wearing real clothes.\u00a0 I’m showering and “putting on my face”.<\/p>\n
I took a drive to Sarnia this morning.\u00a0 Like I would have done for work.\u00a0 The feeling I got was sadness.\u00a0 So much sadness.\u00a0 Almost nobody on the roads. Parking lots empty.\u00a0 Signs in windows and doors you know warning of closures or policy changes.<\/p>\n
It was ominous.\u00a0 I felt so much sadness.\u00a0 Our world is different.<\/p>\n
A big heartfelt thank you to all of you still in the trenches – going to work everyday. You are appreciated.<\/p>\n
I can’t complain about working in my little room, surrounded by things I love.\u00a0 My kids in the other room.\u00a0 My husband downstairs.<\/p>\n
I’m trying to find some sort of routine that works.<\/p>\n
I started using my Happy Planner again.\u00a0 Even writing down silly things to track to check off the list to feel accomplished.<\/p>\n
Drink coffee\u00a0 (check)<\/p>\n
Shower (check)<\/p>\n
Drink MORE coffee (check, check, check)<\/p>\n
Whatever your days look like – whether you’re working from home, helping kids with their homework, just trying to get through the day – be kind to yourself.<\/p>\n
