It was a pretty sweet arrangement we had with certain CD ordering company\u00a0back in the 90’s.
\nMy brother and I got to pick out a free album that we wanted each month,\u00a0after our
\ngrandparents selected theirs. That is, with the exception of a couple of
\nalbums that arrived, suspiciously without the expected Parental Advisory sticker on
\nthe front.\u00a0 Wu Tang Forever comes first to mind for some reason.<\/p>\n
My brother popped the CD in the ghetto-blaster \u00a0(Oh the 90’s), and what sounded
\nlike 4th of July bottle-rockets, and other cheesy pyrotechnic whistles and explosions
\ncame out of the speakers instead of the\u00a0high speed barrage of rap profanity :
\n“It’s Wu, mother-WHEEEEEEE, Wu-Tang Mother-WHEEEEEEEEE.”
\nWas that a frickin’ SLIDE WHISTLE????<\/p>\n
My brother and I honestly thought the CD was skipping at first\u00a0as the lyrics
\npopped, whistled or just skittered out completely:
\n“-bbit.. obbit, ipp….-eep, nug- ibb, ee-yeah-moth-Wheeeeeeee.. Pop!”<\/p>\n
In went the next CD:
\nAnd The Red Hot Chili Peppers – Sir Psycho Sexy made NO sense!
\n“Sittin’ there in the Garden of Eden,\u00a0with my (Pop, WHeeeee, ah-OOGA)’ –
\nThere’s a (symbal clash) in my (Boyoyoyoing) –\u00a0and some demons\u00a0in my (bottle rocket) ”
\nAnd so on. \u00a0Ugh….<\/p>\n
So when it comes to average lyrical density, who are today’s worst offenders?
\nLet’s just narrow this down to Rock today.

\nThese are the worst offenders when it comes to dropping a cuss, using a swear,
\nor in the words of the Simpsons Reverand Lovejoy, “these organ pipes that\u00a0you have-
\nbefouled\u00a0with your popular music!”<\/p>\n
