Dolly Parton To Be Inducted Into The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame
May 4, 2022 11:00 amOn Wednesday, May 4th, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced which of this year’s nominees will be inducted at the 2022 ceremony on November 5th in Los Angeles.
Country legend Dolly Parton, rock hitmaker Pat Benatar, new wave chart-toppers Duran Duran, hip-hop heavyweight Eminem, synth-pop duo Eurythmics, R&B hitmaker Lionel Richie and pop singer-songwriter Carly Simon make up the Class of 2022.
Despite previously asking the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame to withdraw her nomination for possible entry, Dolly changed her mind and said she would “accept gracefully.”
She told NPR’s Morning Edition that her change of heart comes after learning more about the requirements of being in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
“So I just felt like I would be taking away from someone that maybe deserved it, certainly more than me, because I never considered myself a rock artist, but obviously, there’s more to it than that.”
