Willie Nelson On How Marijuana Saved His Life
February 2, 2023 5:55 amIf he wanted to, Willie Nelson could thumb his nose at the marijuana haters when he turns 90 on April 29th.
He’s talked about how weed saved his life, so E! Online asked him to elaborate, and here’s what he said.
“Well, it not only saved my life, it probably saved some other people’s lives. Because, before I smoked marijuana, I was drinking a lot. And I might have killed a lot of people, too. So I’m just glad that that didn’t happen.”
They also asked if there is some special diet that keeps him going.
“I don’t eat a lot. [My wife] Annie does my cooking for me. She’ll say that I don’t eat much. I’ll eat an egg or two, a waffle. I like toast, I like this protein shake. I drink a lot of those. I’ve managed to keep my weight down pretty good. And I really don’t do anything that’s bad for me. I don’t drink as much as I used to. I still take a drink of tequila occasionally. But not like I used to.”
