Dolly Parton released a new version of her 1977 hit, “Light of a Clear Blue Morning,” featuring Miley Cyrus, Reba McEntire, Queen Latifah, and Lainey Wilson ahead of her 80th birthday on Monday, January 19.

The collaborative single and music video includes David Foster on piano and The Christ Church Choir. Parton’s original recording reached No. 11 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles chart in June 1977.

“I wrote ‘Light of a Clear Blue Morning’ during a season when I was searching for hope, and fifty years later that message still feels just as true. As I celebrate my 80th birthday, this new version is my way of using what I’ve been blessed with to shine a little light forward, especially by sharing it with some truly incredible women.”

Net proceeds from the single will benefit pediatric cancer research at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville.

In additional Dolly news, Governor Bill Lee declared January 19, 2026 as Dolly Parton Day throughout the entire state of Tennessee, in recognition of the country music icon’s “extraordinary life and career” which exemplifies “the values of the Volunteer State and serve as an inspiration to Tennesseans and people worldwide.”
