Happy 80th Birthday, Dolly Parton!

The Queen of Country, Dolly Parton, is 80 years old today.  What an amazing life she’s led.

Dolly was born as the fourth-born of 12 siblings on January 19th, 1946, in Locust Ridge, Tennessee . . . which is a tiny town in the Smoky Mountains.  Here are some highlights from Dolly’s incredible life:

1.  She wrote “Jolene” and “I Will Always Love You” on the same day.

2.  She has a $650 million empire that includes Dollywood . . . a beauty line . . . baking kits . . . a series of books . . . a hotel . . . truck stops . . . and dog toys and treats that she sells on her website DoggyParton.com.

3.  Dolly’s Imagination Library has given out over 200 million free books.

4.  She’s won 11 Grammys and is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame. (She’s also been nominated for two Oscars, six Golden Globes, and a Tony.)

5.  And Tennessee Governor Bill Lee just proclaimed that today is officially Dolly Parton Day.
