Cody Johnson has been recording a ton of new music, and some of it’s coming out very soon.<\/p>\n
He talked about it in a recent interview.<\/p>\n
“On August 14th, we have a new single going to radio. It’s called ‘The Painter’. And this fall, the first part of my deluxe album will come out. I’ve been secretly behind everybody’s back recording a 24-track deluxe album.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
He says that album will be called “Leather”.<\/p>\n
There’s also a concept album on the way called “The Cowboy Sessions”. It’ll be covers of cowboy songs by artists like Marty Robbins, Willie Nelson, Chris LeDoux, George Strait, and Tom Russell.”<\/p>\n
We may ALSO see a bluegrass, gospel, or even a rock album.<\/p>\n
“It would be really fun one time to just record a full-blown rock album. I would never go tour it. Maybe New York, L.A., Chicago or somewhere crazy like Austin.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
