Jelly Roll is loved by nearly everyone, so it comes as a bit of a surprise that he was once sued by Waffle House.<\/p>\n
Back in 2013, Jelly was an underground rapper and put out a mixtape called, “Whiskey, Weed, and Waffle House”.<\/p>\n
Needless to say, the restaurant was a little upset.<\/p>\n
“I used the Waffle House logo on the CD cover for the mixtape, and that’s a big no-no . . . I didn’t know this at the time. And they sent me a cease-and-desist letter and they froze my YouTube channel up. It was a big debacle.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
You’d think this might bother most people, but not Jelly.<\/p>\n
“I was calling everybody, like, we’re popular! Waffle House is trying to sue us! I [was] 450 pounds . . . I should have sued Waffle House 10 years ago. Do you know how many All-Star Breakfasts I have bought in my life? I might’ve stopped at 330!”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
In the end, Jelly Roll settled the case for $10,000, after printing around that many mixtapes for free.<\/p>\n
Then they changed the name of the album to, “Whiskey, Weed, and Women” and, also put a “cease and desist” logo on the cover.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Jelly Roll just announced\u00a0 “The Beautifully Broken Tour” with 37 concert dates.<\/p>\n
The tour is set to open in Salt Lake City, Utah on August 27th, and will close in Charlotte, North Carolina on October 27th.<\/p>\n
They will hit up 20 states, and perform in some major sports arenas around the U.S. including a stop at Madison Square Garden on September 27th.<\/p>\n
