{"id":31433,"date":"2025-02-27T08:30:55","date_gmt":"2025-02-27T13:30:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/chokfm\/?p=31433"},"modified":"2025-02-27T06:58:46","modified_gmt":"2025-02-27T11:58:46","slug":"tracking-the-money-raised-by-the-concert-for-carolina","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/chokfm\/blogs\/country-music-news\/2025\/02\/tracking-the-money-raised-by-the-concert-for-carolina\/","title":{"rendered":"Tracking The Money Raised By The Concert For Carolina"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Luke Combs and Eric Church&#8217;s Concert for Carolina raised $24.5 million for Hurricane Helene victims last fall.<\/p>\n<p>Luke promised &#8220;every single dollar&#8221; would be used to help them, so, did they follow through?<\/p>\n<p>It looks like the answer is a resounding YES.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.charlotteobserver.com\/news\/state\/north-carolina\/article300276759.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;The Charlotte Observer&#8221; just did a big story on how every cent has been accounted for.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Half the money went to four nonprofits Luke picked: Samaritan\u2019s Purse, Eblen Charities, and two different food banks.<\/p>\n<p>The other half went to Eric&#8217;s nonprofit called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ericchurch.com\/chief-cares\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chief Cares<\/a> to build new homes for people who lost theirs in the storm. The CEO says the charity received a payment of more than $12 million last month.<\/p>\n<p>They used $850,000 of it earlier this month to buy land for 30 to 40 new houses.
