She doesn&#8217;t talk about it.&#8221;<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>We&#8217;re going to be those grandparents.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Maybe there&#8217;s some sense\u2026 some folksy wisdom <\/b><b>to pass down..<br \/>\nYou never know.\u00a0<\/b><b>Tell us about those things.. Your grandparents <\/b><b><br \/>\n<\/b><b>did.. That you thought\u2026 was odd\u2026<\/b><b>but sensible.<br \/>\n<\/b><b>Like half a slice of processed cheese <\/b><b>in a grilled cheese sandwich.<br \/>\n<\/b><b><br \/>\n<\/b><b>My grandparents would\u00a0 put up with my brother and I being &#8220;hungry&#8221;<br \/>\nan hour after dinner,\u00a0<\/b><b>by\u00a0 giving us a little dish each of sesame seeds.<br \/>\nT<\/b><b>hat was our snack.<br \/>\nGrandpa used to tell me about shining leather shoes with a banana peel!<br \/>\nLike this..<\/b><\/p>\n<div class=\"video-shortcode embed-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" width=\"610\" height=\"355\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ANNDSX3GYCg\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><b>Later when Grandpa was being cared for, by the outstanding staff and crew<br \/>\non the veterans ward\u00a0<\/b><b>at Parkwood in London during his final years,<br \/>\nthere was one\u00a0<\/b><b>gentleman on his floor,<\/b><b>\u00a0a delightfully cantankerous old fellow<br \/>\nwho reminded me of Popeye the sailor man, who would\u00a0 wheel around\u00a0 constantly<br \/>\ngathering pop cans and recyclables and handing them to nurses with a hearty salute.<br \/>\nOLD HABITS.\u00a0<\/b><strong>But sensible habits!
