The Secret Gardens of Amherstburg Open to the Public for One
Weekend Only!

AMHERSTBURG, Ontario – May 25, 2026] — The Amherstburg Horticultural Society invites the
community to explore the area's most stunning private landscapes during its bi-annual Garden Tour on
Saturday, June 27, and Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily (rain or shine).

This year’s tour features 11 unique gardens, ranging from hidden urban oases to
expansive country estates. Attendees will gain exclusive access to private properties,
meet local expert gardeners, and gather inspiration for their own outdoor spaces.
"Our goal is to showcase the diverse beauty of local horticulture while bringing people
together," says Janice Emery, Co-President of the Amherstburg Horticultural Society.
"Whether you are an experienced botanist or a casual plant lover, this tour offers a rare
look at the passion and creativity thriving in our community."

Event Highlights:
● Exclusive Access: Tour private properties seldom open to the general public.
● Expert Advice: Learn tips directly from the homeowners, who nurture glorious
gardens in our community, with suggestions informed by our climate and soil.
● Special Features: Enjoy live music and local art artists at select homes.
● Charity Impact: Ticket proceeds directly support the Amherstburg Horticultural
Society’s annual initiatives to beautify our community, such as the holiday ‘Deck the
Planters’ Event, the upkeep of community gardens, and the funding of student
bursaries.

Tickets are $15.00 each and can be purchased at the ticket booth at the North East
corner of Toddy Jones Park, 50 North Street, Amherstburg (by the murals) during the
event, and at many local retailers in the downtown core. Each ticket includes a detailed
map and guidebook for the self-guided driving tour. Additionally, there will be raffle
prizes for Garden Tour participants, donated by generous Amherstburg businesses,
retailers and restaurants.
