2/65 – All The World’s A Stage (World Theatre Day)

Sometimes I think that if all the world really is a stage … then whoever does the casting, needs to reconsider a few of their choices. The world can be a chaotic place and home to a few very scary humans … but there is also beauty and I still believe, a lot more good people than bad.

Since I was a very young man, I have found many of my favourite people in the theatre. Whether on or off the stage, it has been something that helped to pull me to a place of safety and belonging when the world was more than I could handle. It’s been a source of laughter, tears, hope, fear, joy, education … family.

This Photoblog/Podcast is, in a large way a journal of sorts for me. A chance to celebrate, remember the past and dream of future journeys …one of those being a return to a stage at some point.

I don’t have pictures of everyone who has played a role in my “theatrical” life, but I have a few I’d like to share with you as I (we) celebrate World Theatre Day (March 27th).

The carousel below, features a few images from my private collection and are some of the more heartwarming memories I’ve had on local stages. I’m grateful to have a mom who liked to save newspaper clippings!

This week on the Podcast, three amazing men to chat with:
Gil Garratt, Artistic Director of the Blyth Festival Theatre, my old drama teacher Warren Robinson who along with his wife Eleanor, and Philip McMillan at GDCI in Goderich, nourished a young man’s dreams of acting, singing and creating … and our mutual friend and a fellow drama teacher from GDCI, David Armour. It’s all about the theatre this week on “A Life That’s Good.” #WorldTheatreDay
