17/65 – Where Everybody Knows Your Name (with Ally Anderson)
July 10, 2023 5:11 amGrowing up in a small town. If you’ve lived in one all or most of your life, there’s a good chance that a lot of the discussion on the “A Life That’s Good” podcast this week, will resonate with you.
Do you remember your friends from public and/or high school? Are you maybe fortunate enough to still be friends with them? What kinds of part-time jobs did you have in high school? Did you know a lot of the police officers in your town by name … did they know yours? From church to hobbies to dying to get outta this town … to dying to come back to this town.
We’re happy to have a guest this week who you may already know at some level. She’s that person who is hard to walk down the street with because she gets stopped … or stops herself to chat with so many people. Alecia “Ally” Anderson to chat about growing up in small town Ontario, where everybody knows your name … and often thinks they know more than that 😉
The three of us are close to belonging to three different generations: Gen X, Millennial and Baby Boomer and we talk about the similarities and differences in growing up through the 70′ 80’s and 90’s in a small town. Specifically in our cases, Goderich for Ally and I and Walkerton for Milli.
For a photoblog this week, we’re sharing a few images from our respective ‘growing up in a small town’ scrap books.
