55. For The Love Of Goderich – Trevor Bazinet & Ally Anderson
April 1, 2024 7:44 amWhen we set out on this journey, we thought we would be focusing on a lot of places and things that we find amazing about Midwestern Ontario … and I hope we’re still doing that to some extent. What it seems to have evolved into though is a podcast that’s more about people.
We say often that everybody has a story, but we’ve discovered that many of those stories are amazing, funny, sad, often so genuine, passionate, transparent … I
could go on. We’ve come to love the stories.
In this episode, we going to chat with a guy who stepped into a very difficult role last year after the Town of Goderich lost it’s second mayor in as many years.
Trevor Bazinet stepped into the role of mayor after the tragic loss of mayor Myles Murdock who’d been elected just the year before after the tragic passing of Mayor
John Grace following a boating accident in August of 2022. The community was shocked then again when Myles passed in August of 2023 after having been
diagnosed with cancer earlier in the year.
Enter deputy mayor Trevor, unanimously chosen by Goderich Council to succeed Mayor Murdock and now filling the very big shoes of his predecessors.
Also back today, our friend Ally Anderson who goes back a ways with Trevor and who always has her unique spin on all things Goderich and Huron County. We love it when she has time to join us and we love it when you join us so lets dig in for the love of Goderich.
Check out a few pics from Trevor’s private collection.
