One of the things I love about living in a small community is the way people so often face adversity head on, together.<\/p>\n
Such was the case a few years ago when the community of Kingsbridge experienced the closure of their Church. For decades it had been the hub of the area, the place where a large, vibrant, rural community came to meet.<\/p>\n
Fast forward a few years and these days “St. Joseph\u2019s Kingsbridge Community”<\/strong><\/a> (SJKC) is a registered charity with the goal of providing a large multi use facility for the residents and visitors of rural Southwestern Ontario.<\/p>\n On the podcast this week, we’re meeting up with an old high-school friend of mine, Marianne Hogan<\/strong> who has been a big part of the transformation. We’ll get the story of how the historic church and rectory was purchased and transformed into a spot that would host community gatherings, concerts and performances, rental options and a lot more.<\/p>\n Also joining Milli and I, a very good friend of ours, Cheryl Prashker<\/strong><\/a>, who wears many hats including Percussionist for the Celtic Roots band RUNA<\/a><\/strong> and Artistic Director – The Goderich Celtic Roots Festival … RUNA coming to Kingsbridge …. We’ll get details on that show and maybe a little peak at what’s coming up for Celtic Festival this year as well.<\/p>\n Really, it’s a bunch of old friends hanging out today talking about things that make all feel like we have A Life That’s Good<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n
