I may have spent a few weeks feeling really sorry for myself. From time to time, I get cluster migraines and I have some really annoying seasonal allergies. As I’ve aged, arthritis in my neck and hands has made life periodically uncomfortable. Every few years I get to have a colonoscopy and I get the occasional endoscopy too, to check on acid reflux issues and potential consequences of that.

Also … complain, complain, whine, gripe, grumble, moan … I’ll confess it’s super easy for me to sometimes sit and wallow in my own misery. I live with a constant fear that I’m turning to a cranky old man.

Stumbled on this meme this week and it spoke volumes about much of what I’ve been feeling/thinking lately.

I’ve come to believe that the only way I can combat that very scary grumpy old man scenario, is to dive as often as I can, into the deepest pool of gratitude I can find.
As I’m sure I’ve mentioned before, I believe in vibrations. That everything in the Universe vibrates and as go the vibrations so go my levels of joy, sorrow, contentment and the quality of my mental health. Do I understand it fully? Have I done “my own research”? lol … no, just enough that it makes enough sense to me that I’m pursing it more. Here’s a link to an article I enjoyed recently that might explain my interest in it better than I can.

It feels like the more I complain … the more I complain. But the more I bring to mind things that I’m grateful for, the better I feel. Not always, but most of the time.
I’ve written in recent blogs about rationing my social media time. That’s all about the vibrations and the general shortage of uplifting content that leaves me feeling anxious and depressed. #BadVibes

So … I’m determined to look for good and to be less negative and fearful. To practice gratitude even if I have to set an alarm on my phone to remind me it’s gratitude time. Time to remind myself that the little things are most often the things that make life so good and so worth it.

One of the little things this past week, was catching some light through the roadside trees as I drove along a country road just outside of Wingham. I pulled over and a short walk brought me to the river’s edge and a beautiful sunset. #GoodVibes

Peace friends … until next week.

In April, I got the first nasty head cold I’ve had in a few years.
