{"id":16403,"date":"2021-09-23T09:49:50","date_gmt":"2021-09-23T13:49:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/cjwffm\/uncategorized\/2021\/09\/morgan-wallen-did-donate-500000-to-black-organizations\/"},"modified":"2021-09-23T09:49:50","modified_gmt":"2021-09-23T13:49:50","slug":"morgan-wallen-did-donate-500000-to-black-organizations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briwebapp.net\/cjwffm\/blogs\/country-music-news\/2021\/09\/morgan-wallen-did-donate-500000-to-black-organizations\/","title":{"rendered":"Morgan Wallen DID Donate $500,000 To Black Organizations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/morgan-wallen-charity-1209084\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;Rolling Stone&#8221; got everyone&#8217;s attention<\/a> when they questioned whether or not Morgan Wallen kept his promise to donate $500,000 to black organizations.<\/p>\n<p>This was in response to his racial slur incident.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/entertainment\/music\/2021\/09\/22\/morgan-wallen-kept-his-pledge-donate-money-black-serving-groups\/5788855001\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;USA Today&#8221; looked at written records<\/a> and talked to Morgan&#8217;s manager, and they confirmed that $500,000 is indeed getting distributed.<\/p>\n<p>Some of it by Morgan, and some by his team.<\/p>\n<p>He donated $300,000 to the Black Music Action Coalition [BMAC] in the names of 20 people who had counselled him after the incident, each had the option of giving it to BMAC or to a charity of their choice.<\/p>\n<p>$165,000 stayed with BMAC, and $135,000 went to smaller charities.<\/p>\n<p>Morgan&#8217;s record label donated $100,000 to Rock Against Racism on his behalf, and the remaining $100,000 has been earmarked to be dispersed to Black-led organizations in Tennessee by the end of the year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"USA Today looked into a Rolling Stone report that Morgan Wallen hadn&#8217;t kept his promise to donated to black organizations, but found that he actually has.
