Reba McEntire was among the superstars paying tribute to the late Kenny Rogers during the concert special, Kenny Rogers: All In For The Gambler, which aired on CBS on Thursday, September 23rd.<\/p>\n
Reba and Kenny’s friendship went back decades.<\/p>\n
In fact, Reba tells us that Kenny helped her after the 1991 plane crash that killed several of her band members.<\/p>\n
At the same time, he was the reason she met her now-boyfriend, actor Rex Linn.<\/p>\n
“It was right after the plane crash, and Kenny\u2019s manager called (former manager & husband) Narvel (Blackstock) and asked, \u2018Would Reba be interested in doing Gambler 5?\u2019 And Narvel said, \u2018I don\u2019t know.\u2019 I said, \u2018Yes, absolutely.\u2019 It probably saved my sanity to get out of Nashville and go to California and get up ‘early, work hard and by the time you\u2019re ready to go to bed, you went to sleep, which wasn\u2019t happening. And so, I went out there, and that\u2019s the first time I met (now boyfriend) Rex Linn. We worked together on the movie, on The Gambler movie with Kenny Rogers.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Kenny Rogers: All In For The Gambler also featured Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie, Chris Stapleton, Idina Menzel, Lady A, and Little Big Town.<\/p>\n
