Sara Evans\u2019 husband, Jay Barker, was arrested and charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly intentionally tried to hit a car Sara was riding in with his car in the early hours of Saturday, January 15th.<\/p>\n

Sara was a passenger in her friend’s car on her way home from attending a party at a neighbour’s house.<\/p>\n

According to an affidavit obtained by CBS42<\/a>, when they were passing the driveway, Jay was \u201creversing his vehicle at a high rate of speed attempting to hit them, but missed.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to reports, Sara immediately called the police and Jay drove away from the scene.<\/p>\n

He later returned to speak to police who arrested him.<\/p>\n

The Tennessean reports<\/a> that Sara filed for divorce from Jay in August after 13 years of marriage.<\/p>\n

The divorce complaint listed “irreconcilable differences” and “inappropriate marital conduct” on Jay’s part.<\/p>\n

Jay was forced to remain in the Davidson County Jail on a 12-hour hold for domestic violence.<\/p>\n
